For people who do not want to join an alpine club but want to be taught the skills that safety requires. This is instruction, not a guided tour.
- At least one online or field session a month (Hokkaido mountains, crags, streams, climbing gyms, ski areas). As many as schedules allow.
- Content: weather, map reading, safety and rope work for each discipline, gear advice, self-rescue, hauling, summer hiking, all kinds of climbing, stream climbing, backcountry (splitboard OK), skiing, avalanche, ice climbing, winter mountaineering
- For: age 20 and over, living in Hokkaido
- Monthly fee: ¥8,000 (bank transfer or cash)
- Field sessions mostly around Sapporo
Arrange your own mountain and liability insurance. Insurance is not included in the fee.
Take out mountain and liability insurance before taking part. Accident and injury insurance is not included in the fee.
Mountain areas carry natural risks such as bad weather, rockfall, collapse and avalanches that cannot be fully removed. I understand that I take part with these risks, with my own and my family's consent.
The course may be changed, cancelled or postponed because of weather or other force majeure.
I will follow the organizer's decisions and instructions on site.
